Tensar TriAx™
The
triangular structure of
TriAx™
geogrids,
coupled with increased rib
thickness and junction
efficiency, greatly improves
aggregate interlock and
confinement – leading to
optimal structural
performance of the
mechanically stabilised
layer.
When combined with a
suitable aggregate, TriAx™
produces a
mechanically stabilised
layer with unrivalled
performance in ground
stabilisation and sub-base
reinforcement
that out-performs
conventional biaxial
geogrids.
The multi-directional
properties of
TriAx™
provides near
isotropic performance under
wheel loads that act
radially through the
pavement layers.

Tensar TriAx™
grades are
supplied and stocked in Lae
in the following roll sizes:
| Product Grade |
Width |
Length |
| Tensar TX160 |
3.8m |
75m |
| Tensar TX170 |

50m |
A number of tests and
trials have been completed
to prove the functional
performance benefits of the
TriAx™
geogrid
compared with the
conventional biaxial geogrid.
Tests included trafficking
trials using facilities at
the University of Nottingham
(NTEC) and, on a large
scale, at the Transport
Research Laboratory (TRL).
Installation damage
assessment, bearing capacity
and field tests were also
conducted as part of the
comprehensive and rigorous
testing programme
