Erosion Protection

 Enkamat®  permanent erosion prevention matting

In addition it has received International recognition through testing at CIRIA (Construction Industry Research and Information Association), Delft Hydraulics Lab, and other leading research Univerities. Enkamat® is produced and supplied in accordance with the EN-ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System

Enkamat® is used in three main application areas.

bulletErosion prevention for embankments and slopes
bulletProtection of river banks against erosion
bulletSupport of vegetation on steep slopes and geomembranes

Enkamat® is supplied in the following grades:

Grade Roll Width Roll Length Thickness
7010 1m / 1.95m 150m 10mm
7018 1m / 1.95m 120m 18mm

Enkamat® is a dense three-dimensional permanent erosion prevention mat, made of thick polyamide filaments fused where they cross. Over 90% of the volume of the mat is available for soil filling, which ensures positive integration and immediate stabilisation of slope surfaces, while providing an enhanced environment for seed germination. Once a layer of vegetation is established, Enkamat® provides root systems with permanent reinforcement, resulting in an integrated, effective erosion control system.

Enkamat® has a proven performance having been introduced in the seventies, today over 18 million m2 have been installed world wide

JuteMat - bio degradable erosion prevention mattress

Soil erosion by water and wind affects both agriculture and the natural environment. Soil loss, and its associated impacts, is one of the most important, yet probably the least well-known, of today's environmental problems. Erosion control is the practice of preventing or controlling wind or water erosion in agriculture, land development and construction. This usually involves the creation of some sort of physical barrier, to absorb some of the energy of the wind or water that is causing the erosion.  JUTE matting provides a protective barrier to disturbed soil until vegetation takes hold.
JUTEMAT is an erosion control mat, made from 100% biodegradable recycled jute fibres. JUTEMAT provides temporary erosion protection by protecting against water and wind erosion, whilst promoting vegetation growth.

Geoweb

The Geoweb system is an engineered, high strength network of interconnected cells that confines and stabilises soil. The Geoweb system provides innovative solutions to challenging soil stability problems in the applications of:

bulletSlopes stabilisation
bulletGeomembrane protection
bulletChannel protection
bulletLoad support
bulletEarth retention

The Geoweb system consists of the perforated Geoweb section manufactured from textured polyethylene to maximise surface interaction between the cell and infill material as well as anchors and tendons to provide support on steep slopes. To complete the system a range of infill materials can be used including:

bulletTopsoil with various selected vegetation
bulletAggregates from sand and gravel to larger stone
bulletConcrete of various strengths and finishes
bulletOn-site available fill

Geoweb is supplied in the following sizes

Cell Type Panel Size Cell Depth
GW30V 2.6m x 8.3m 100mm
150mm
200mm

Siltfence

Maccaferri Siltfence SF40 is a specially manufactured UV stabilised polypropylene silt fence that includes a high flow zone to ensure good filtering of the silt sediment and high flow rates. Siltfence SF40 includes an attachment cord to aid fixing of the silt fence to the support posts.

Application of Siltfences

bullet

Constructed at the downstream boundary fence

bullet

Immediately downstream of soil stockpiles

bullet

Immediately upstream of grass buffer zones

bullet

On contours for progressive filtering
